Power point:

ROMEO AND JULIET

Shakespeare’s life, author of the history:
William Shakespeare was born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, and he died in 1616. His father, John Shakespeare, made and sold gloves, and was an important person in Stratford. His mother, Mary Arden, came from quite a rich family. John and Mary had eight children. Shakespeare went to Grammar School in Stratford, and after went to London; became an actor.
In 1582, he married with Anne Hathaway. He was 18 years old and she was 26. They soon had a daughter, Susanna, and in 1585 they had twins, Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet, however, died when he was only 11 years old.
Most famous works with Shakespeare are Romeo and Juliet, a Midsummer’s Night’s Dream and The Merchant of Venice.
One interesting thing about when he lived is he died the same day that he born.

Characters of history:
Juliet: Daughter of the Capulets and Romeo secret wife.
Romeo: Son of the Montagues, Juliet are secretly married.
Montague: Romeo Parent, secular enemies of the Capulets.
Capulet: Parents Juliet Montagues rivals.
Tybalt: Cousin of Juliet.
Mercutio: Kinsman of Prince of Verona and Romeo's friend.
Benvolio: Montague's nephew and Romeo's cousin.
Friar Laurence: Romeo Confessor.
Count Paris: Kinsman of Prince of Verona.
 Ama: Juliet's Nurse.

Summary of history:
Well, now I'll do a short summary of the novel we read last quarter: Romeo and Juliet.
The history explains of the forbidden love between two teenagers, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, members of two rival families in Verona, Italy. One day when the Capulets made a party the Capulets, Romeo attends it. Romeo goes disguised. At the party he meets Juliet, which falls madly in love, it was love at first sight. So they decided to meet secretly, knowing that her parents would never allow it. They marry in secret, with the help of Friar Lawrence. On the day of the ceremony, Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, challenges him to a duel, and he says no, but his friend Mercutio goes in his place and is killed. Hearing Romeo retaliates and kills Tybalt, so the Prince of Verona condemns him to exile. Romeo flees to Mantua after their last reunion with Juliet. Meanwhile, the Capulets, Juliet's parents, who were unaware of the secret marriage, intend to marry his daughter to the Count of Paris. Friar Laurence, as a council, accepts this marriage, but gives you a potion, which should be taken at night before the wedding. This potion left as dead for 42 hours, time period in which the friar tell Romeo responsible for the false death of his wife, so that in time will wake up, come to find her and take her with him Mantua. But the message does not arrive in destination, and Romeo learned that his beloved had "died". So he decided to buy a deadly poison, go to the Capulet crypt and drink it next to his wife. There he meets Paris, then takes the poison and dies. Waking Juliet and see the two bodies, decides to commit suicide with Romeo's dagger. These terrible events, however, manage to reconcile the two families.

My opinion about the story:
In my opinion, this story is very nice, sad and true.  Furthermore, it is a story I wanted to read, but so far had not done so. It was an easy book to read, I have not had any difficulty. And if you had any doubt about vocabulary, but it was explained in every page.

Writing 8: Write a review of a book or film

I’d like, to recommended to a book which I read recently, called “Tot el que podríem haver estat tu i jo si no fóssim tu i jo”. The author of the book is Albert Espinosa.

The book is a drama and romantic. The main characters are two means. Marcos is the son of one famous dancer and Eliot is a one person of different world.

The things I liked most about the book were the characters and the ending. Some of the chapters are memorable because they're curious and also it's a very wonderful story and the way it is told is fantastic.

All in all, I really liked the book, and it has got a happy ending and different, I wouldn't change it. It's a book that sends a good message.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I represent a group called ‘Teenagers Against Motorways’. I am writing to you because we are concerned about plans to close a park and build a motorway near our town.

In our opinion, motorways are dangerous because cars can pass over them very fast and this can cause some accidents on the future. If you finally decide to build a motorway, teenagers and children won’t have a space to meet themselves or just do some activities together. I think a motorway will not be as useful as the park is now. Namely a park is better, because the babies can play in there, it's safer. In the other hand, the motor of the cars will be very noisy, and this could be annoying for the people in our town.

We have therefore decided to take action, and we are going to organize a protest. For this reason, we are sending you a poster and we hope that you will support us and help to publicize this event.
Yours faithfully,
Carlota

Writing 6: Write an opinion essay

¿Are you in favour of home schooling or against it?

In my area, most of people don't do classes at home, they always go to in a school center. I personally do not know anyone who studies at home. Except my aunt, who is studying a career at home, but she has to do exams in the University of Girona.

Firstly, In my opinion, if you are studying in a traditional school, you have the opportunity to interact with other students. Secondly, I think that learning how to play and work with others is one of the most important lessons we can learn from school. Finally, It prepares us for living a life, and staying with others also help us discover who we really are.

So all in all, I think that isn't a good thing studying at home, and for that reason I think every person has to study wherever, but I think to have better grades you must attend class.
